HYDERABAD: A roundtable conference organised by the Backward Classes United Front on ‘Alternative political force - the role of backward classes’ here on Sunday resolved to constitute a nine-member sub-committee headed by T. Bala Goud, to foster unity among BCs. It would hold discussions with four leaders of BC organisations/parties - Kasani Gnaneshwar (Mana Party), Naragoni (Rajyadhikara Party), R. Krishnaiah (AP State BC Welfare Association) and P. Ramakrishnaiah (BC United Front Party) on December 28. Mr. Ramakrishnaiah, convener, BC Political Coordination Committee, said in a release that the sub-committee would submit its report by January 15. He said the four leaders would tour the districts to create confidence among BCs that they were now emerging as a united force. ‘Confusion’The roundtable discussed unity among the caste/BC organisations/parties in the context of the ‘confusion’ sought to be created among weaker sections by S. Ramachander Rao, former Advocate-General and convener of ‘Sarvajana Sammelanam’ with claims of leading BCs, SCs, STs and minorities and forming a political alternative. It also considered the claims of a religious preacher K.A. Paul who plans to form a political party with BCs, SCs, STs and minorities, as also those of the ruling and Opposition parties. Hence, it felt that BCs in AP were divided and called for unity of the four leading groups.
