Petronet to sign contract with Japanese firm

KOCHI: Petronet LNG Ltd. will sign an engineering, procurement and construction contract with the Japanese firm IHI for the Kochi LNG terminal.

This will materialise after the director board meeting of Petronet slated for the New Year, probably on January 16. The agreement is expected to cover all issues, including rates, said to have been concluded with the construction company, official sources says. P. Dasgupta, managing director of Petronet, says the letter of intent will be issued after the meeting. Talks with the Japanese firm have been concluded and Petronet is ready to sign the contract.
