FOR A COSY JOURNEY: Governor Surjit Singh Barnala (right) stepping out of the House on Wheels caravan he inaugurated on Sunday. The 30-foot mini-bus has been converted into a fully furnished caravan by K. Sundar, managing director, Pooja Industries, who is in the picture. It can accommodate 10 members (sitting) and has a furnished master bedroom, a modern kitchenette, a conference room with Wi-Fi facilities and a chemical toilet. Hiring charges cost up to Rs.7,000 a day for 100 km. This is inclusive of taxes and vegetarian food for the day. According to Mr. Sundar, 10 per cent of the revenue will go to support Kaakum Karangal, the Guild of Service and other institutions for the poor.
