Mahindra’s Zaheerabad plant wins NEC award

SANGAREDDY: Mahindra and Mahindra plant of Zaheerabad in Medak district has bagged first prize in the automobile industry category at the National Energy Conservation (NEC) Awards ceremony for the year 2007. President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil gave away the award at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 14 of this month. Rajan Wadhera, Executive Vice-President (Operations), received the award.
The energy conservation award is presented to companies based on their performance in reducing consumption of power and achieving best standard measured units of power in millions of MKCL consumed per vehicle manufactured. The awards instituted by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency are given annually during the National Energy Conservation week by the Union Ministry of Power. The Zaheerabad Group has adopted innovative ways and set for itself new benchmarks in the field of energy conservation.
