Develop Gujarat, Mamata tells Modi

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee said here on Sunday that though she was “not a supporter” of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, “he had received people’s mandate” and should work for the State’s development.

Ms. Banerjee, whose party is a constituent of the National Democratic Alliance but has been maintaining a distance from the Bharatiya Janata Party, said she never believed in “politics of riots” and was “personally not a supporter of Mr. Modi.”
