VIJAYAWADA: The traffic wing of the City Police will conduct a weeklong special drive exclusively on buses run by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) from Monday. The police have observed that the RTC bus drivers are not stopping on seeing the amber light at traffic signals. Air horns that are banned are being used and many of the drivers were even violating the one-way norms and are stopping buses in the middle of the road instead of the bus bays where they should. Other objectionable actions of the drivers according to the police are stopping buses without any indication, turning without using indicator lights, blocking the entire road by stopping two vehicles side by side, occupying free-left lanes and using FM radios and mobile phones while driving.
