Woman robbed of gold chain

TAMBARAM: A 45-year-old woman was relieved of her gold chain while she was travelling on a motorcycle along with her father in Adambakkam on Saturday evening.
The crime, in broad daylight, took place near the Adambakkam police station. Police said Meena was employed as a cashier with a nationalised bank in T.Nagar.
After work, she was returning home in the Adambakkam area. Her father picked her up on the motorcycle and both were returning home. Unidentified youths pounced on the woman from behind, assaulted her, snatched the chain and fled from the spot on a motorcycle. Adambakkam police are investigating.
