Karur posts win

CHENNAI: Karur defeated Cuddalore 11-10 on the opening day of the State-level under-17 boys’ handball tournament at the Jaya College of Arts and Science near here on Sunday.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Dr. R. Thirumalaisamy, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University.

The Chairman of Jaya Educational Trust, Prof. A. Kanagaraj, presided.

In all, 26 teams from all over the State are taking part.

Villupuram bt Vellore 17-9; Thiruvannamalai bt Dharmapuri 9-1; Ramnad bt Perambalur 8-1; Kovai bt Krishnagiri 18-7.
