Bangalore: Cricinfo, cricket’s leading website, announced its maiden annual awards program at a press conference here on Monday. The ‘Cricinfo Awards’ will honour best individual performances in 2007, by batsmen and bowlers in the game’s three formats — Tests, ODIs and Twenty20. The awardees will be named at Perth in the second week of January and a distinguished panel which includes former cricketers Geoffrey Boycott, Ian Chappell, Daryll Cullinan, Tony Greig, Michael Holding, David Lloyd, Sanjay Manjrekar and Rameez Raja, will select the winners. Exhaustive listMore than 50 international players figure in the exhaustive nominees’ list and the Indians in the fray are — Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Murali Kartik, R.P. Singh and S. Sreesanth. Yuvraj has three nominations with one in Tests and two in Twenty20. Individual performances of Indians in the list: Tests: Batting: Yuvraj Singh, 169 vs Pak. Bowling: Zaheer Khan, five for 75 vs Eng; R.P. Singh, five for 59 vs Eng. ODI: Batting: Sachin Tendulkar, 97 vs Pak. Bowling: Murali Kartik, six for 27 vs Aus. Twenty20: Batting: Yuvraj Singh, 70 vs Aus; Yuvraj Singh, 58 vs Eng. Bowling: S. Sreesanth, two for 12 vs Aus; R.P. Singh, four for 13 vs SA.
