Anatomy and physiology courses in demand now than in past

SVS medical college was started in 1999 at Mahabubnagar


MAHABUBNAGAR: NTR Health University Vice-Chancellor A.V. Krishnam Raju exhorted the future doctors that discipline and dedication towards work alone can deliver success in the life of a medical practitioner.

Speaking at annual function of SVS Medical College here on Saturday night, the Vice-Chancellor said that doctors have special respect in society and added that a doctor would learn more by practice than through the text books. He said that entering into medical profession is a boon. Hence he added, that doctors should serve the society with utmost sincerity and dedication. Kirshnam Raju opined that anatomy and physiology courses were in demand now when compared to the past. He said a doctor should also participate in social activities besides concentrating on his profession.

Film director Sekhar Kammula said that among all the professions, medical profession was the most sacred one. He said Indian culture equated a doctor with god.

SVS Educational Society secretary Dr. K. Krishna Reddy said that the medical college in 1999 at Mahabubnagar keeping in view the backwardness of the district in higher education. Subsequently, a dental college, a school of nursing, a college of nursing and institutions of paramedical and para-dental science courses were started by their educational society, he said.

Health camps

Director of the society Dr. K. J. Reddy said that they have decided to extend medical services to rural areas by organising medical camps in the district. He said so far over 10,000 people were benefited through their free eye camps conducted by their SVS Hospital. He also said that recently their society has conducted 10k run to bring health awareness among the people. Principal of SVS Medical College Dr. K.Chandrasekhar delivered welcome address. Vice-Chancellor Krishnam Raju released the souvenir . Chairman of the Educational Society Vijayaraghavan vice-president Dr.Venkat Reddy, Hospital Resident Director K.Ram Reddy, SBI Manager Kutumb Rao and SBH Manager Mahadev Kalekar were present.
