Cake exhibition from today

BUILDING BRIDGES: A cake model of the London bridge on display at a bakery in Davangere.

DAVANGERE: Visitors to a cake exhibition here will be in for a surprise when they look at the cake model of London Bridge.

So lovely is the cake model prepared by a team of Cake masters of Mothis Bakers Bowl here that it has become a major talking point. The team has designed the 15-foot wide and five-and-a-half-foot tall “bridge” using 300 kg of sugar and proportionate quantity of refined floor, egg, oil, dry fruits, plum and other decorative items.

Mothi P. Ramarao, chairman of the Mothis group, told presspersons here on Monday that over 20 different models would be on display during the cake exhibition from Tuesday. Mr. Ramarao, who is the pioneer of cake exhibitions in Davangere, said that nominal entry fees of Rs. 5 will be charged. He said those who visit the exhibition would be given a free cake worth of Rs. 5. The exhibition will be on till January 5.
