One killed, 10 injured in accident

VANIYAMBADI: One person was killed and 10 others were injured when an omni-van in which they were travelling hit a stationary lorry near Natrampalli on Monday.

The police said Kuttiappan, 65, along with his family, were going in the van to Tirupati from Pallakode in Dharmapuri district. When the van neared Athoor Kuppam near Natrampalli at 5.30 a.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the lorry. Kuttiappan died on the spot. The injured were admitted to the government hospital at Vaniyambadi and later shifted to the government hospital at Vellore. – Staff Reporter
