Governor calls on Kumaraswamy
Bangalore: The former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, who underwent open-heart surgery on Thursday for replacement of the aortic valve, is likely to be discharged from hospital on Friday.
The Director of the Government Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology, C.N. Manjunath, said that Mr. Kumaraswamy was recovering well and was shifted to a private ward from the intensive care unit on Monday. He is taking normal food and walked a short distance within the hospital.
Governor Rameshwar Thakur called on Mr. Kumaraswamy on Monday and spent some time with him. The former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and his wife, Chennamma, were present when their son was shifted from the ICU. — Special Correspondent
