Seer firm on ascending peetha in Udupi

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Sugunendra Tirtha of the Puttige Math has reiterated his right to ascend the Paryaya Peetha at Udupi and worship Lord Krishna at the temple and asserted that there “is no question of giving it up.” His ascension to the peetha has been in the eye of a storm ever since a section of heads of the Ashta Maths of Udupi said that he had lost his right to worship since he had travelled overseas. Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, he said he would ascend the peetha on the appointed date of January 18.
