UAE team in fray

BANGALORE: MaxTalent Academy, UAE, will play a four-team round robin league 20-over a side Under-15 cricket tournament for the MaxTalent Bisleri Cup from December 26 to 31, at the JIRS Campus in Kanakapura Road, near here.

The three local teams in fray are: Canara Blues CC, Jain International Residential School (JIRS) and the Professional Sports Group.

Speaking at the press conference here today, Mr Sudhakar Shetty of the MaxTalent Academy, Dubai said that “the event was conceptualised with the aim of promoting the game in the age group category. This is the first overseas venture and a beginning is being made and we will make it a bigger and larger event on a regular basis in the years to come.”

Besides cricket, MaxTalent is also hoping for exchange programmes in other disciplines too.

“In this tournament for under-15 we have allowed two 16 year old players as well, just to make ti more competitive. Sri Lanka, the third country invited to participate could not make it due to technical problems” said Mr Sudhakar Shetty. — Principal Correspondent
