Prakash Amritraj gets wild card

CHENNAI: IMG in consultation with the AITA has decided to offer top-ranked Indian, Prakash Amritraj and Spain’s Bartolome Salva Vidal wild cards in the Chennai Open to be held here from Dec. 31 to Jan. 6.

The third wild card has been awarded to a youngster from Hyderabad, Vishnu Vardhan, who won the recent National grass court championship in Kolkata. The young player had won both the singles and doubles partnering Divij Sharan.

The 13-year-old prodigy Yuki Bhambri from New Delhi has been given the wild card for the qualifying rounds which will be held on December 29 and 30. — Special Correspondent
