PUDUCHERRY: Member of Parliament M. Ramadass on Tuesday urged the government to expedite the process of construction of homes for those affected in the tsunami. In a press release here, he said 601 persons lost their lives, and 1071 were hurt, 38 children lost their parents and 10061 homes were damaged in the tsunami. While stating that dwelling units constructed by private parties were in a bad shape, Mr. Ramadass urged the Government to renovate these homes. — Staff Reporter
