Sharana sammelan from January 11

Bangalore: The 21st Sharana Mela will be held from January 11 to 15 at Kudala Sangam in Hungund taluk of Bagalkot district. According to a press release from the Sharana Mela Utsava Samiti, more than four lakh devotees from throughout India were expected to attend the annual event. The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa is expected to inaugurate the mela on January 13. P.C. Gaddigowda, MP, and Doddanagowda Patil, former MLA, will be the chief guests. A mass prayer and Vachana recitation will be held on January 14, which will be inaugurated by M.V. Rajashekaran, Union Minister of State for Planning. — Staff Reporter
