CHAMARAJANAGAR: Activists of Praja Vimochana Chaluvali staged a demonstration in front of the district office complex premises here on Monday saying that Ambedkar Jayanti should be celebrated in all schools and colleges on April 14. The protestors said that Gandhi Jayanti and Children’s Day (to mark Jawaharlal Nehru’s birth anniversary) are being celebrated in schools and colleges on October 2 and November 14, respectively every year. In the same manner, Ambedkar Jayanti has to celebrated. They said that summer holidays are declared on April 11 after the completion of the annual examination of primary and secondary schools. They urged the Government to commence the summer holidays after celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti on April 14.
