CHAMARAJANAGAR: Chamarajanagar MP M. Shivanna has said that a programme has been organised to conduct student-consumer adalat in schools at an expenditure of Rs. 50 lakh in the district. He said that the Union Government has come forward to prevent adulteration of food products and wrong measuring and weighing of commodities. FundsHe said that of the Rs. 50 lakh allocated to the district, Rs. 5 lakh had been released to organise the programmes. He said awareness on consumer rights was being created through student-consumer adalat programmes in 20 schools. Chief Executive Officer of the zilla panchayat G. He said industrialists fixed the price for the products they manufactured. He said the lack of market and cost regulation system were the main reasons for the poor economic status of the farmer.
