dated December 26, 1957: The Krishna Barrage

Mr. N. Sanjiva Reddi, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated the Krishna Barrage on December 24 amidst enthusiastic scenes. Mr. J.V. Narasinga Rao, Minister for Public Works, presided over the function. Mr. Sanjiva Reddi announced that this barrage would hereafter be called “Prakasam Barrage” to commemorate the services rendered to Andhra State by the “Andhra Kesari,” the late Mr. T. Prakasam, who laid the foundation-stone for the project in February 1954, as the then Chief Minster of Andhra.
