Rampur (Himachal Pradesh): A major fire at the historic Hira Mahal palace here, which houses a government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), has caused damage to property worth over Rs. 1 crore. Two floors of the palace, situated in Kumarisain Bazaar of Shimla district, were badly burnt in the fire on Monday night, fire brigade sources said on Tuesday. Five fire-tenders from Rampur and Shimla battled for over five hours to douse the fire. A short circuit was suspected to have caused the fire. — PTI
