Timely warning

The editorial ‘Warning signs on food front’ (Dec. 25) was timely. Our scientists and technologists should make efforts to reinvigorate our food security systems. Over-emphasis on biofuels has caused a lot of damage to our food crops. We have to refocus on the farm output of food crops, well matched by sustainable post-harvest technologies. Global warming and climate changes must be fought with good planning and meticulous execution at all levels.
