Villagers demand transfer of principal

Sirsa: Residents of a village in the district have staged a protest against a principal of the government high school there, alleging his frequent absence from the institution and demanded his immediate transfer.

Jalalana residents, including women and children, alleged that Principal Deep Singh often remained absent from the institute. They alleged that when the parents of students complained, he misbehaved with them.

Earlier, when villagers had locked the school on December 19 to register their protest, he inflicted corporal punishments on the students, the protestors alleged.

They later handed over a memorandum to the ADC demanding his immediate transfer to some other school.
