Jana Vignana Vedika on health awareness drive

ANANTAPUR: The Jana Vignana Vedika (JVV) has planned a publicity campaign for the protection of government healthcare sector including hospitals in the district. The 12-day campaign will take off on Wednesday and is scheduled to cover 21 mandals including six towns.

The cultural troupes of JVV would explain to the people that health and education were fundamental rights of the people and that the government was planning to deny them by withdrawing itself from the two sectors in a phased manner. The JVV would enlighten people on the issue of opposing the government move, town general secretary of the organisation S. Rahamatullah said here on Tuesday.

The ‘kalajatha’ would build public opinion gainst the proposed division of the medical and health department, demanding ex-gratia to those killed after undergoing Aarogya Sri operationsand allocation of 6 per cent of the budget to health sector.
