Dense fog delays trains

Soneapat: Train services on the Delhi-Ambala-Kalka section of the Northern Railway remained disrupted for several hours on Tuesday due to dense fog which enveloped the Sonepat region, causing inconvenience to thousands of passengers.

Railway sources said almost all the long-distance and suburban trains were running behind schedule by two to nine hours.

The Shaheed Express running between Darbhanga (Bihar) and Amritsar (Punjab) was delayed by seven hours. Similarly, the suburban trains originating from Delhi, Panipat, Kurukshetra and Ambala passed through the city here behind schedule and most of them were overcrowded.
