No ambition to continue in the post: G.S. Rao

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The AP Congress Committee (APCC) in-charge president G.S. Rao said he was under no pressure to continue in the post although the Kapu community which he represented strongly pitched for him.

Addressing a meeting organised by AP Kapu Sangham to mark the 19th death anniversary of Congress MLA Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, Mr. Rao said on Tuesday that he did not pin high hopes on being made fulltime president of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee because it was not a post which could be secured by lobbying.

Mr. Rao also said he was never anxious to corner the post nor had anything to lose if denied.

In fact, he could not believe himself when his name for the post was scrolled by a TV channel.
