Plea to expedite Sethu project

KARUR: The Karur Rationalists’ Forum has urged the authorities to expedite the Sethu Ship Channel Project after sending the experts’ report to the Supreme Court.
At a meeting here on Monday, the forum also passed resolutions demanding that religious insignia in Government buildings and complexes be removed, circular to officials to restrain them from sporting or attending religious festivals in public, establishing a memorial for the ‘Ravana Kaviyam’ author Pulavar Kuzhanthai at Karur besides calling for a grand Pongal celebration.
The Forum president Paramathi A. Shanmugam, treasurer M. Shanmugam, Karur Municipality DMK Floor Leader N. Maniraj, Dravidar Kazhagam Town president Sadasivam and others addressed the gathering.
