SIRSI: Mattighatta Ranga Balaga, a team of young artistes which has staged shows in running river water and the sea, will stage a theatre show, “Uddhara”, in a ravine this time. The show will be held in a ravine called Susabbikodlu, near Kakkalli village 30 km from Sirsi, at 5 p.m. on Saturday. This show will go into the record books of Kannada theatre organisation. Kakkalli Sahyadri Youth Association has been making all-out efforts to make it a success. According to the organisers, the team is riding on the imagination of K.R. Prakash, director of the show. He has staged theatre shows in running river water and the sea in the last two years. He has directed 1,000 dramas and the latest one is his 1,001st. The venue is a natural spot where water falls from a height of 150 metres. There are no seating arrangements and the audience would have to make use of the rocks, trees, wooden planks and the like. Those who wish to attend the show are advised to bring warm clothing with them. The ravine is a kilometre away from the main road, the organisers said. The expenses have been estimated at Rs. 50,000 and the show will have 15 artistes. It would be a new experience for both the artistes and the audience. Chandrashekhar Kambar will inaugurate the show. Prathima Bhat, ETV anchor, and G.L. Hegde will be the chief guests. Divakar Hegde Kerehonda has written the drama. Sahana Bhat Bharat is the choreographer.
