CHENNAI: For children and adults fond of circuses, here is some good news. The Great Bombay Circus is in the city after about four years.
One of the oldest circuses in the country, the Bombay Circus has been in the entertaining business for more than eight decades now.
They have included new items such as ‘Sky walk’, ‘Comic chair act’, ‘Russian doll act’, ‘Cycling act’, ‘Dog shows’, ‘Ring gymnastics’ and ‘Duet Acrobats’.
World-renowned Russian artistes will perform at the circus. Being held at the SIAA Grounds near the Moore Market, it has three shows daily at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets are prices from Rs.25 to Rs.100, each denomination for a specific seating arrangement.
The Great Bombay Circus was founded in Hyderabad of the Sindh Province, now in Pakistan, in 1920 by Baburao Kadam and Kunni Kannan. In the fifties, K.M. Balagopalan took charge.
