Police officer, 5 others hurt in ULFA ambush

Sibsagar: Six persons, including a sub-divisional police officer and three policemen, were injured as the banned ULFA ambushed a police patrol in upper Assam’s Sibsagar district on Tuesday.

They were injured when a box-like object, lying near a bridge in the Khona Tea Estate area, went off, the police said.

They were admitted to the Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh. — PTI
