Road blockade

The police used mild force to chase away a group of people, who resorted to a road blockade near Vickramangalam demanding the immediate arrest of an accused in an assault case. The agitators blocked traffic at Thepathupatti near Vikramangalam demanding the arrest. When efforts to pacify them and disperse failed, police used force to chase the crowd and restored normal traffic. The Madurai Superintendent of Police, T.S. Anbu, visited the spot. — Staff Reporter
