Seminar on employment scheme

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Under the aegis of the SAHAYI centre for collective learning and action, a one-day workshop will be organised in Thiruvananthapuram to discuss ways to implement the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme more effectively, a press note issued here said.

The seminar will be inaugurated on December 27 by Forest Minister Benoy Viswom.

For the past two years SAHAYI has been engaged in implementing the rural employment guarantee scheme in four districts of the State.

The one-day workshop will discuss the experiences generated and lessons learnt from the two years of implementing the scheme and will focus on what needs to be done to implement the scheme in a more effective manner in the future, the press note said.
