VISAKHAPATNAM: Sri Mahanarayana Krathu is being conducted in the city for 22 days since last week for universal well-being, according to Sri Himalaya Swamy. Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, he said that the period from 2007 to 2013 was turbulent as the Moon was king with Sun as minister. This would lead to political powers hostile towards the general public. “We can overcome the difficulties by performing the Sri Mahanarayana Krathu or Yagam. There are as many as 29 varieties of spices available and these are being used in the yagam to achieve the goal. No fee is charged. We intend to perform the ritual next in Attili near Tanuku in West Godavari district from Rathasapthami Day to Mahasivarathri Day,” he said. AuspiciousSri Himalaya Swamy said the ritual assumes significance as it was being organised during the month of Margasira, very auspicious for worship of Lord Vishnu. Former corporator and spokesman for the organisers Jaggupilli Appalaraju said that the yagam was being performed on the beach road at the AT Rayudu premises next to Palm Beach hotel. The yagam would conclude on January 9 with Sri Lakshminarayana Kalyanam, Dhwajarohanam, Chakrasnanam and Poornahuthi. Annadanam would be organised on the final day with the assistance of devotees. Mr. Cheruvu Anjaneyulu and Mr. Sesha Venkatacharyulu were also present. Further particulars can be had from the organisers on 93467 18107, 93478 75870, or 99593 84513.
