Farmer starts his day: A farmer in Kumbalangi, near Kochi, is seen engaged in prawn farming operations. Prawn farming in the Pokkali fields of Ernakulam, Thrissur and Alappuzha districts was delayed because of the long rainy season. Pokkali farmers traditionally alternate paddy and prawn.
