Elderly couple die of burns

Meerut: Four people including an elderly couple were killed in separate incidents in this district, police said on Wednesday. Ranvir and his wife Chandan Kaur, both around 80 years old, died due to severe burns after a kerosene-oil lamp fell on them while they were asleep last night, Senior Superintendent of Police Jyoti Narayan said.

In a head-on-collision between a Maruti van and a motor cycle on Tuesday, Neeraj, the motorcyclist, was killed and the pillion rider Rajesh was injured, the SSP said.
