Core committee to have representatives from CPI(M), BJP-RSS Panel members will visit problem areas THALASSERY: A peace meeting attended by the local leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Bharatiya Janata Party-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (BJP-RSS) here on Wednesday called for restoring peace in the area. The peace meeting, convened by Thalassery Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) T. Rajan, decided to constitute a core committee comprising two representatives each from the CPI(M) and the BJP-RSS, the RDO and police officers. The core committee members will visit areas where there could be clashes. The meeting condemned the recent incidents of violence in the area and resolved to restore peace in the volatile areas. District Superintendent of Police Mathew Polycarp; Thalassery municipal chairman K.P. Raveendran; CPI(M) leaders James Mathew, Karayi Rajan and Punjayil Nanu; and BJP-RSS leaders P.K. Velayudhan, M.P. Gopalakrishnan and O.M. Sajith were among those present at the meeting. Meanwhile, the police seized six country-made bombs from an uninhabited plot at Palathayi under the Panur police station limits during a raid on Tuesday night. The bombs were found in a plastic bag, the police said. In another incident, Youth Congress Kodiyeri mandalam president Jaffer Sadikh (36) was attacked by alleged CPI(M) workers at Poozhikkara last night. He has been admitted to a hospital here.
