Their new home: Grey pelicans have started arriving at Kokkere Bellur, the famed village about 85 km from Bangalore on Mysore road. Local residents have taken care of migratory birds such as the painted stork, the black ibis and the cormorant, which have been co-existing with people for centuries. This time the pelicans are fewer in number. More birds are expected in January.
