NEW DELHI: Delhi boys and girls swept 10 gold medals in yoga in the 53rd National School Games here on Wednesday. Jubas Aalam, Rohit Kumar, Chandan, Ritesh and Mahesh Kumar in the boys’ section and Lovely, Nitu, Deepa, Jyoti and Seema in the girls’ section won the gold medals for Delhi in the under-17 category. In wrestling, Delhi added another five gold medals through Satish Kumar (42kg), Chetan (46kg), Amit Kumar (50kg), Akilesh Yadav (58kg) and Sumeet (76kg). In judo, Ashok of Maharashtra defeated Manish of Delhi for the gold in the 60kg section of the u-19 category. In the girls’ u-19 section, Gagandeep Kaur of Punjab beat Pariksha of Haryana for the gold in the 61kg class. In hockey, Madhya Pradesh beat Karnataka 5-1, Punjab outplayed IPSC 9-0 and Himachal Pradesh beat Gujarat 2-0 in the girls’ u-19 section. In the boys’ event, West Bengal drew 2-2 with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangatan, Maharashtra beat Puducherry 4-0 and Haryana defeated Karnataka 3-0. — Special Correspondent
