MP skittled out for a paltry 93

NEW DELHI: Gujarat’s seam attack played havoc with the Madhya Pradesh batting on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Plate League semifinal at the Karnail Singh Stadium here on Wednesday.

Resuming at three for one, Madhya Pradesh was skittled out for 93, conceding Gujarat a first innings lead of 99 runs as Siddharth Trivedi, Ashraf Makda and Amit Singh ran through the opposition.

The Madhya Pradesh batting lacked character. Barring the experienced Devendra Bundela, who made 34 off 72 balls with six fours, none of the batsmen could read the bowlers.

Gujarat finished the day at 98 for two — an overall lead of 197 runs. Nilesh Modi gave Gujarat a splendid start with an innings of 49 (148b, 7x4).
