Pilgrim dies of heart attack

SABARIMALA: A 66-year-old pilgrim, identified as T.S. Gopal from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, died of heart attack at the Government Hospital at Sannidhanam on Wednesday evening.

Gopal, who had developed severe chest pain while climbing the Appachimedu hills on the Pampa-Sannidhanam trekking path, was rushed to the hospital by Ayyappa Seva Sanghom volunteers.

He breathed his last at the hospital.

The body was taken to Vijayawada.
