BHUBANESWAR: Come February, the city’s theatre connoisseurs will receive a grand treat with at least three major annual theatre festivals lined up in the State-capital. The calendar of events will commence with city-based Manana Natya Sanstha mounting its fifth annual drama festival coinciding with its 29th foundation day celebrations. The five-day event will be supported by the National School of Drama, Central Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata. The 10th national multi-lingual theatre festival, the most popular and only event of its kind event in the State will kick off following the Manana Natya Sanstha festival. Being hosted by the three-decade-old Satabdira Kalakar, the five-day festival will showcase Oriya, Bengali, Koshali and Hindi plays besides a play in a tribal dialect. In the last leg of the series of festivals, city-based theatre Pancham Veda will stage its fourth State-level annual theatre festival spreading over five days.
