CHENNAI: Students of the College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), Anna University, are gearing up for one of their biggest inter-collegiate events, ‘Kurukshetra’.

‘The battle of brains’, as students describe the event, will be held between January 22 and January 25, 2008.

The international techno-management fest is aimed at providing a platform for interaction between the industry and academia. It seeks to be a forum where technologists around the globe can interact, share their ideas and showcase their talent.

Prize money

‘Kurukshetra’, presented by the CEG, in association with Vestas, will feature a range of events in which participants could win prize money worth Rs.10 lakh, besides internships with leading companies.

The techno-management fest has been endorsed and accredited by the UNESCO. This year, over 8,000 participants from about 600 colleges are expected to take part in the technical extravaganza.

The event also presents an impressive range of guest lectures and video conferences with eminent persons in the field of science and technology. American physicist and Nobel Laureate Douglas D. Osheroff, Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI) director David P. Anderson and Head of Google’s Research and Development wing Prasad Ram are some of the speakers.

Contests in topics such as robotics, online programming, entrepreneurship, product design, development and deployment, and other paper presentations are to be held.
