Provision store ransacked

TAMBARAM: A youth running a provision store was assaulted and his shop ransacked in Ullagaram on Tuesday night.

Ayyappan (28) runs a provision store on Murugappa Road in Ullagaram – Puzhuthivakkam Municipality. At 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday, a group of youths came to the shop. One of them was known to Ayyappan and asked for a pack of cigarettes. Ayyappan reminded the youth that he already purchased cigarettes worth Rs. 150 and that the amount was yet to be paid. Some others accompanying the youth slapped Ayyappan and damaged his shop.
