Vijayawada
VIJAYAWADA: “I have succeeded in fulfilling only a fraction of my father’s aspirations, but I will not rest until all his dreams come true,” said Vijayawada East MLA Vangaveeti Radhakrishna on Wednesday. The MLA paid floral tributes to his father and former MLA Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao at the latter’s statue near Raghavaiah Park where he was assassinated two decades ago. Addressing a gathering in front of the statue, Mr. Radhakrishna said that the Government had agreed to register house site pattas at nominal rates only for a fraction of patta-holders. He was expecting the Government to issue orders in the next three to four months for registration of the rest of the pattas. The 19th death anniversary of Mohana Ranga Rao was observed in the Andhra Ratna Bhavan, the City Congress Office, too. City Congress president Pyla Sominaidu garlanded the portrait of Mohana Ranga Rao and Mahila Congress president Marupilla Ramanamma performed a puja. VGTMUDA chairman Malladi Vishnu said that the void created by his death could not be filled even today.
