TASMAC assurance to employees
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) has promised to withdraw disciplinary action against employees suspended and fined on the charge that they were behind the spurt in sale of Indian Made Foreign Liquor on December 10, a day before prices were increased, according to Labour Progressive Federation president C. Kuppusami. In a statement here, Mr. Kuppusami said the managing director had agreed to take a decision after talks with employees’ unions.
The CITU affiliated Federation of Employees of TASMAC urged the corporation to drop the disciplinary proceedings against the employees as they were not responsible for the spurt in sales. The employees met the general manager and submitted a memorandum, says a release.
