“Police permission not sought for DMDK rally”
Special Correspondent
MADURAI: The Desiya Murpoku Dravidar Kazhagam had not obtained police permission to take out a rally here on December 24 to mark the death anniversary of former Chief Minister M. G. Ramachandran.
In a statement on Wednesday, Commissioner of Police K. Nandabalan said that since the DMDK cadres had not sought police permission, they were not allotted specific timings to garland the statue of MGR in K.K. Nagar. The police arrested 10 DMDK cadres and 16 AIADMK members following the clashes, he said.
