Tara shocks Deepika

HYDERABAD: Tara Iranovic shocked top-seeded S.S. Deepika of Tamil Nadu 6-4, 6-1 in the girls’ under-12 quarterfinals, in the Prince AITA Talent Series tennis tournament here on Wednesday.

The results: Quarterfinals:

Girls: Under-12: Tara Iranovic bt S.S. Deepika (TN) 6-4, 6-1; V. Keerthana bt P. Sudheera 7-6(6), 4-6, 6-2; D. Nayanika Reddy bt P. Rashmitha Reddy 6-1, 6-1; B. Moulika Ram bt Y. Pranjala 7-5, 6-2, 7-6(4).

Under-14: D. Mahitha Reddy bt Y. Pranjala 6-3, 6-2; P. Vaishnavi bt V. Keerthana 6-4, 6-1; P. Sudheera bt B. Moulika Ram 6-1, 6-4.

Boys: Under-12: V. Prithvihaas bt M. Sai Nikhil 6-3, 6-4; S.M. Osama bt Bhupal Raju 6-2, 6-3; Devang Singh Saxena bt G. Anush 6-2, 6-2; M. Ankit Reddy bt Arjun Patnayak 6-1, 6-3.

Easy for TVG ‘A’

Trimulgherry Village ‘A’ scored a 2-0 win over St. Patrick’s High School ‘B’ in the Sudhakar memorial (under-14) football tournament at Trimulgherry Village Grounds here.

Sankrith latched on to a neat pass from Srivastsa in the 15th minute of first-half to score the first goal. In the second session, Antony positioned himself well for a neat cross from right-out Mukesh to find the target.
