Suresh shines

CHENNAI: Suresh’s goal helped SAI to beat Nethaji SC by a solitary goal in the CFA senior division league at the Nerhu stadium on Wednesday.

The all important goal came in the 29th minute when Suresh struck a free kick from close to mid-field that sent the ball into the cage. Nethaji had several close moments at the rival end but if Natarajan once struck the crosspiece then on another occasion, Guanasekaran’s power-packed try was well saved by goalkeeper Rajesh Kannan.

Earlier in the first division, Rangoon FC trounced HVF 4-0. M. Haribabu (three goals) and Kanmani Vendan were the scorers.
