Curfew continues

G.UDAYGIRI (KANDHAMAL): Curfew continued to remain in force on Wednesday in four towns of Kandhamal district of Orissa that witnessed large scale violence and arson on Tuesday after an attack on a VHP leader, who led an anti-conversion movement.
There were reports of sporadic violence from some pockets. Restrictions under Section 144 remained in force in 11 police station areas of the district. Curfew was imposed on Tuesday in four other police station area.
Twenty-seven platoons of police have been deployed in the tense areas.
Three companies of the CRPF from Rourkela, Sambalpur and Rayagada district are reaching the district, according to Kandhamal Superintendent of Police Narasimha Bhol.
